Story

Bringing people together, creating experiences, sharing meals.

“one cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.”

virginia woolf

when I first started thinking about “my story” I thought about how Sunday Supper started in addition to all the things that brought me to this place throughout my lifetime. And while I didn’t want to speak about the pandemic, it was inevitable. when the pandemic hit, the industry that I had spent my entire life working in, like so many other people, was completely shut down and I had a lot of time to contemplate “what’s next?”

as a restaurant employee at that time and someone who loves sharing meals and providing experiences around food, it was an incredibly difficult time for me as well. When forced to stay home i took a deep dive into that question and from those lonely, endless days, sunday supper was born.

i spent most of those days inside a tiny galley kitchen above market square in portsmouth, taking cooking class after cooking class online, making pasta, bread and anything else my roommate would eat with me. I made bagels and dumplings and so much risotto! drank endless martinis and shared countless charcuterie boards. I started selling contactless meals and catered holiday parties from afar. But the human aspect, the community feeling that you get from sharing a meal was still lost. I needed connection, like everyone else at that time. i needed my grandmother’s sunday suppers.

our first supper in september of 2020 was outside and had 15 guests, most of whom i begged to come. but we didn’t give up. I knew that we were all longing for the same thing and set out on a mission to bring it back.

now, three short years later, we have built a commercial kitchen, we have built a community and we are sharing meals together again! Thank you all for continuing to support me and my vision, for allowing me to share my passion with you week after week. stay hungry friends and i promise to keep feeding you.
